Inspired by Vienna’s Neujahrskonzert, a traditional concert on New Year’s Day since 1838, the annual Salute to Vienna New Year’s Concert returns to Walt Disney Concert Hall on Monday, January 2, 2023 at 2:30 pm. following a pandemic enforced hiatus. Presented by Attila Glatz Concert Productions, this festive performance has brought joy to audiences across the United States and Canada for more than two decades. Salute to Vienna New Year’s Concert is a delightful celebration featuring music by Austrian composer Johann Strauss (aka “The Waltz King”) and his contemporaries with performances by soloist singers, dancers, and a full orchestra led by Viennese conductor Nir Kabaretti. Ushering in 2023, Kabaretti will lead the Strauss Symphony of America, along with British soprano Juliet Petrus, Mexican tenor Jorge Garza, champion ballroom dancers, and members of the San Diego Ballet. This delightfully entertaining program promises waltzes, polkas, and songs from comic operetta designed to entertain audiences of all ages.
