The sheer brilliance of West Side Story as a production, on stage and in front and behind the camera was an example of pure genius. The immense talent/artistry involved is rarely achieved.

And one of those exceptionally talented individuals that were involved would have been 100 years old today. It would be a mistake not to acknowledge his artistry and contribution to the world of entertainment.

On being an Artist, Mr. Bernstein perfectly sums it up. He left us with that beautiful feeling from his incredible music.

“The key to the mystery of a great artist is that for reasons unknown, he will give away his energies and his life just to make sure that one note follows another…and leaves us with the feeling that something is right in the world.”
