The Southern California Dance and Choreography Festival has announced that applications are now being accepted from dance artists interested in having their work presented on this year’s festival July 29th at 7:30 PM at Jordan High School in Long Beach, California.  In order to participate, choreographers must fill out the online application no later than March 31, 2023. While we are not asking for a fee, any donation to help cover the festival’s expenses is greatly appreciated – suggested is $15-$20.

The festival is being co-coordinated by artistic director, founder and choreographer of DAGDAG Dance, Jestoni Dagdag and dancer, choreographer, Michael Mendoza. The festival’s Artistic Director is dancer and educator, Paula Vreulink, Artistic Director of Southern California Dance Theatre. They are seeking “submissions from choreographers who want to share their work and be a part of this exciting event. Whether you’re an established choreographer or an up-and-coming artist, we welcome all styles and approaches such as ballet, contemporary, hiphop, jazz, ethnic, cultural, and other dance forms. We’re looking for original, innovative pieces that showcase your creativity and passion for dance.”

Choreographers will have their work shown to a diverse audience on a platform that celebrated a wide range of cultures and traditions. It will also be an opportunity to expand your audience and to network with like-minded dance artists.

The concert will take place on July 29, 2023 at the beautiful 1,500-seat Jordan High School Theatre in Long Beach, California located at 6500 Atlantic Ave, Long Beach, CA 90806 ; participating artists will receive a professional recording and photographs of their work; as well as free promotion through social media and marketing materials. In addition, each work will receive feedback from our esteemed adjudicators and a chance to win a cash award.
