Hailed a national heroine and a symbol of conflict and the struggle for independence, Boudica was born in the British Isles. She reigned as queen of the ancient British Iceni tribe and led her people on an unsuccessful revolt against the conquering forces of the Roman Empire in AD 60 or 61, yet the number of Romans and Britons who were massacred by Boudica’s army is estimated to be between 70 and 80 thousand. Boudica died shortly afterwards of what historians listed as either illness or suicide.

Described as an action-packed, historical drama, the story of the Iceni Warrior Queen Boudica, famous for her bloody uprising against the invading Romans in 61 A.D is told through song, spoken verse, and dance. This production comes with a warning that it contains “bloody violence, suicide, depictions of animal sacrifice and verbal description of sexual assault”.
