Most of the SoCal dance presenters have announced their 2026-2027 dance offerings—including the LA Music Center downtown, Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa, The Wallis in Beverly Hills, UCLA in Westwood, The Soraya at Cal State University Northridge, the Carpenter at Cal State University Long Beach, the BroadStage in Santa Monica, the Irvine Barclay at UC Irvine, the Musco at Chapman College, and UC Santa Barbara.
What follows is a summary round up. It does not include a few presenters yet to announce their dance season. They will be included in a late summer update, a more comprehensive version of SoCal dance to expect in 2026-2027, and include LADC contributors weighing in on local and visiting events they have their eye on and why.
For dance fans, now is a chance to rough out a wish list of shows of interest and to consider series subscriptions. Single tickets usually are not offered until later but now is a time to nab the better seats with a subscription which offers discounts over single tickets, sometimes substantial discounts, and often extend perks like ticket exchange for different dates and advance parking purchase or reservation.
For SoCal dance companies and choreographers planning performances, this overview may help in seeing who else is dancing and where on dates under consideration for their own performances. Announced dance seasons also will be viewable in the soon-to-be launched LA Dance Chronicle Performance Calendar, providing an overview of the what, when and where of local and touring dance.
